About me

My name is Jenn Best. I am the wife of a retired Marine and the mother of two amazing children. Our son was born in 2010 via a necessary (but very unexpected) cesarean section. Our daughter was born VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) in 2013.

I began postpartum doula work in 2005--before I even knew what I was doing had a name! I have a passion for assisting families as they transition after the birth of a baby, and connecting them with local resources and information. In March of 2016, I decided to begin the Postpartum Doula certification process through Doulas of North America (DONA) International.

My family practices a holistic lifestyle, and I have experience with things such as babywearing, cloth diapering, and baby-led weaning. I enjoy studying herbal medicine and aromatherapy through Heart of Herbs school, baking treats in all shapes and sizes, and discovering new things.

Other training: Infant Sleep Educator (Bebo Mia course, 2017); Birth and Bereavement Doula (Stillbirthday course, 2018); Understanding World Religions for Birth and Death Doulas (Birth, Breath, & Death course, 2021); Grief Work Training (Birth, Breath, & Death course, 2023); Holding Space for Pregnancy Loss (Birth, Breath, & Death course, 2023).
